Colon Monument in Barcelona

The monument, as we have said, was erected for the Universal Exhibition of 1888, more specifically between 1887 and 1888. It is made of stone, iron and bronze, with a total weight of 205,000 kilograms. Its architects were Carles Buxade, Josep M. Casanovas and Joan Margarit. The author of the statue is Rafael Arché.
In short, climbing to the top of Columbus can offer us the always strange sensation of climbing inside a monument, through a place that from the outside one wonders if it is possible that an elevator can fit through it.
